The Plot

Last year in Potterholics Anonymous History...

In is the year 2007 (07-08 school year), ten years after Harry Potter's generation graduated. Voldemort and his horcruxes are no more, and the infamous final battle has ended. However, this battle was not the final battle. A new evil has emerged for a new generation to fight in order to protect the world they know and love. The strongest resistance, the secret organization of the Order of the Phoenix, is being lead by Evie McGonagall who took charge of Hogwarts after the death of her sister, Minerva.

The first attack was on a muggle train returning from Asia which killed the parents of Gryffindor prefect, Ava Seaford. Then on Valentines Day a man stormed Hogsmeade and declared himself the new dark lord in front of a good portion of Hogwarts including the Headmistress. As if things couldn’t get worse during the school year, Hufflepuff prefect, Eliza Witter, was kidnapped from within the school and tortured by Lord Lazarade himself in an attempt to turn her to his side. All of this took place right in front of the minister of magic and his senior undersecretary, Eliza’s mother.

With the exception of Evie having to deal with the corrupt minister of magic, the rest of the school year went fairly smoothly. Slytherin won the house cup for semester nine and the seventh years graduated on a good note.

But since then things have been growing steadily worse for the wizarding community. The attacks have been happening more frequently and anyone against the dark lord is in danger. One of the many deaths over the summer included that of Eliza Witter. Everyone is in fear and many are getting flashbacks from the time of Lord Voldemort who was vanquished only ten years earlier.

What many did not know was that shortly after the death of Eliza Witter, Lord Lazarade and his so called ‘Legion of Terror’ was no more. His reign was cut short by Adelaide Nyx Lestrange, the orphaned daughter of Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange. She had heard of the silly little things Lazarade had done and it outraged her that someone dared to attempt to become the dark lord after Voldemort’s death especially someone who knew nothing of what she had suffered for his cause! After she had killed him, and rather easily too, she gave his followers the choice to join her or suffer her wrath as Lazarade had done. To no surprise, they were happy to follow Madame Nyx as her death eaters and she became known as the Dark Mistress to them. She was finally able to go about finishing the work her mother and Lord Voldemort had started, the purification of the wizarding society.

To the rest of the wizarding world she was nothing. No one had heard of her after the deaths of her parents because she had kept herself shut away in the Lestrange Manor and no one dared to enter such an evil house even though they believed it to be abandoned. Her very existence is still unknown to most as well as the death of Lazarade. It had been kept so quiet that everyone still thought that he was still behind the increasing number of attacks.

Evie McGonagall left the school for a short time to do her duties as the leader of the order, hoping that she may be able to uncover important information in her journeys. Durring that time she left her Deputy Headmistress, Sydney Servone, and D.A.D.A. teacher, Atheaa Reynor to run the school as the youngest headmistresses Hogwarts has ever seen. She is now back only missing a few days of the beginning of the school year but at least with more of an understanding as to what awaits her students that shall soon be leaving the castle.

The ministry also undertook a change after the minister shirked his duties to show his loyalty and support to Lord Lazarade. The ministry was able to catch him and he died in Azkaban. He was replaced by the man that he so narrowly beat out for the position years earlier, Charles Ronald Easton, the former head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. So far the ministry appears to be more stable than they have seen it in years. Hopefully it will be able to withstand corruption that the ministry has so often fallen under.
